Certified BRM® Pro   Body Ready Method ® and Spinning Babies Aware Practicioner

Preparing your body & baby for birth

What is the Body Ready Method®?

The Body Ready Method® empowers families with the knowledge, skills, and confidence for any type of birth. BRM® helps minimize injuries and supports families to be active participants in their journey at every stage.

Pregnancy shows the rocks in the river. I can help you understand and navigate through those obstacles with a BRM session.

A BRM session directs and supports the pregnant client in preparing their body for birth during pregnancy.

  • Helping to minimize aches and pains.

  • Prevent or address the top pregnancy symptoms like diastasis recti, symphysis pubis dysfunction, sacroiliac joint pain, and shortness of breath.

  • Assess prenatally and work on the sticky spots so that they do not come up during labor and birth.

  • Exploring positions and releases that can most effectively decrease pushing time during labor.

  • Being proactive during pregnancy to optimize your baby’s position for your unique pelvis.

  • Specific hands-on tools to encourage progress and address delays in labor, plus the understanding of when, why, and how to use them!

  • A deep understanding of the birthing body, including what positions to suggest to encourage progress—delaying or even eliminating the need for medical intervention.

Why work with a BRM® professional?

BRM® Pros develop a profound understanding of the pregnant and birthing body, which allows them to take the support they can offer their clients to another level. BRM® Pros know how to read the pregnant body to identify what each individual needs, rather than following a script where everyone gets the same things. They also know, deeply, how to read the birthing body, how to encourage labor flow, and how to use physiological tools to support empowerment, progress, and ease. Their care is vital and has helped avoid interventions on countless occasions.

Who should hire a BRM® professional?

An individual who is pregnant and wants to prepare their body for birth. Somebody who has previously had a difficult birth experience and desires to be proactive and find more support for their next pregnancy and birth. An individual who is pregnant and looking for a more holistic way to remain strong and resilient through the entire journey. Those who value function over fitness.

As a BRM® Pro, I work with pregnant people who want to optimize the balance, strength, and resiliency of their pregnant body. I work with birthing people who want a professional by their side who can suggest positions and perform hands-on techniques to create balance and space in the birthing body to support the physiological process of birth. I work with immediate postpartum people who want a simple protocol to follow to encourage optimal recovery from pregnancy and childbirth. And I work closely with other perinatal professionals to help my clients reach their goals and feel empowered through their childbearing experience.

Spinning Babies® is a physiological approach to preparing for and supporting birth.

During birth, babies descend through the pelvis by turning to fit each curve in the passage. Baby’s turns are “fetal rotation.” If fetal rotation can be made easier, birth is easier for everyone.

Spinning Babies® has become a paradigm, or a new view on childbirth. By understanding birth physiology better, we can help make birth easier. Spinning Babies® is how we are Changing Birth on Earth.

What is Spinning Babies®?

If your baby isn’t engaged yet or has been confirmed to be breech, I can help you feel more at ease and supported as we work together.

Your session will take about 2 hours. Wear comfy clothes, and try to drink plenty of water the day before your appointment so you feel your best.

If you notice any of these symptoms before your session, please reach out to your healthcare provider right away. Your safety always comes first!

  • Bleeding

  • Racing heart or high blood pressure

  • Fever

  • Baby isn’t moving as much as usual

Here’s what you can expect:

We’ll start with some gentle stretches, and I’ll use a Rebozo to help your body relax and get ready for the rest of our session.

With gentle hands-on techniques, I’ll help create more space for your baby to move into a better position. I never force anything—this treatment is gentle and shouldn’t be painful.

If you have trouble finding a time that works or need an appointment sooner, just text me at 207-318-8272—I'm always happy to help!
